ProStop IRND Filters
ProStop IRND Filters
Neutral Density (or ND) filters are neutral gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film or digital sensor. ND filters are used to control exposure time and depth of field without effecting color or contrast. ProStop IRND filters are Formatt-Hitech’s premium line of resin based ND filter. In addition to visible spectrum light, IRND filters remove infrared. The IR attenuation reduces digital artifacts and color shifts caused by infrared contamination on the digital sensor. Formatt-Hitech filters are made from the highest quality 1.5mm optical resin.
ProStop IRND filters come with a foam gasket that can be attached to prevent light leaks.
Intro to Neutral Density
Neutral Density (ND) filters are the essential filters for digital photography and cinematography. ND filters reduce the amount of light entering the camera and allow the photographer to create the following effects:
Ethereal waterfalls and streams
Flat water effect in oceans and lakes
Motion blur in sports
Long exposures to remove people from public areas
Shallow depth of field using fast lenses wide-open
Adjusting aperture for cinematography
ProStop IRND filters are resin neutral density filters that also block infrared radiation. ProStop IRND reduces the IR contamination on the digital sensor that causes digital artifacts in the dark areas of the image. ProStop IRND filters are the state-of-the-art in resin filter manufacturing and the most neutral resin ND filters on the market. However at the darkest densities, the Firecrest ND is both more neutral and more effective at eliminating infrared contamination. The ProStop IRND is the filter of choice for top professional photographers who prefer the ruggedness and light weight of a resin filter.
ProStop IRNDs are formulated to work with all popular digital cameras without the need for choosing a filter with IR filtration at one specific nanometer cutoff. This is due to the extremely even attenuation across the infrared spectrum.
ProStop IRND filters are designed to produce identical results when examined on a spectrometer, meaning that you can make adjustments from one density of filter to another without disrupting your white balance. It also means that should a filter become damaged and need replacement, you can rest assured that your new filter will match your existing inventory perfectly.
Formatt-Hitech’s resin filters are ultra flat, have excellent contrast and are completely transparent to the visible light spectrum. Formatt-Hitech’s resin has the highest scratch resistance of any non-glass optical material and it’s resistant to most solvents, chemicals, aging and material fatigue. Because of the ruggedness, light weight and portability, resin filters are a great choice for photographers and HDSLR filmmakers. Resin filters are dyed using our exclusive Absorbing Cell Technology process.
