Long Exposure City Workshop

Spend the day with Fujifilm X Photographer and Formatt Hitech Featured Artist Matt Hart  learning all aspects of Long Exposure ( LE ) Photography. This will be in a relaxed and often entertaining way.

Matt uses the Fuji X-T1 and X-T10 in his LE Photography. If you want to borrow a Fujifilm camera and lens for the day this can be arranged if notice is given in advance. Matt uses the Formatt Hitech Filter Systems.  There will be filters available on the day to try if notice is given.

You will need to bring a digital camera that has a B (Bulb Setting) with a set of filters to include a 10stop or 16stop ND, with a soft edged or hard edged ND Grad in 0.6 or 0.9 and holder and adaptor rings to fit your lens, cable release and tripod. Spare Batteries. Umbrella.

There is some walking during the day and the event may take place in inclement weather so come prepared.

Long exposure (LE) photography is very popular at the moment and has become even more interesting now Formatt Hitech have introduced the stunning Firecrest 16 Stop filter.

You can now make great long exposures throughout the day and not just rely on the golden hours at Sunrise and Sunset to make stunning images. Even though the light is at its best at these times of the day, with the 10 and 16 stop filters you can create stunning images with smooth silky water and moody sky’s at any time of day. (Weather Permitting)

You will learn to compose and frame for compelling images using ND filters.

You will learn how to set up your camera for LE and make test exposures and how to calculate exposure times.

Matt will give you some tips on how to avoid hot pixels and diffraction and how to avoid light leaks with LE over 5 minutes.

You will be able to post your work and talk to Matt after the event through his Social Media pages or by e mail.

Full details of the day will be sent by e mail prior to the event.

The day will start at 10.30 hours and conclude at 15.30 hours with a break for lunch.

The cost of this event is £79.99 and limited to 5 places.
